Freaky Friday

If we switched bodies for a day, here's what we'd wear.

If I was Mo, I'd rock the maxi skirt, denim jacket combo. She knows how to rock a cropped jacket and she's tall enough to really pull off the maxi length. I'm also obsessed with the high bun and my hair is too short to pull it off. Oh to be Momo for a day...

Whenever I'm shopping I come across outfits that are what I call "Dollie inspired" a.k.a meant just for Laura. These are outfits that I think I could never pull off so I can only live vicariously though her wearing them. When we used to live closer to each other, I was lucky enough to get to force her into these outfits. I spotted this outfit while shopping in J.Crew. She would look so fierce rocking these teeny shorts, bright colors, and mixed patterns. A little taste of playful NYC with a preppy summer look just as fabulous in Maine.

In A Rush

Dress: Bruun's Bazaar  Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Today I had no one to take my photo. So what did I do? I set it up on a timer, ran in front of the camera, posed and then ran to work. Ah the life of a blogger. How do some people make it look so fashionable? Note to self: brush hair and put on make-up next time. Heh.

These are my favorite shoes of all time. You will see me wear them more often than is appropriate.

View From The Top

Dress: Michael Stars  Shirt: Fire  Shoes: DVF  Tights: Missoni
Jewelry: Vintage Turquoise

There's nothing like gazing over the FDR drive during a break from work.  With a slight chill in the air, I was able to whip out one of my favorite versatile accessories: patterned tights.  Mix with some bright turquoise and it's summer ready.  I am obsessed with layering and mixing patterns, so this shirt and dress combo is the best of both worlds for me.

Romper Room

romper: Macy's sunglasses: Marc Jacobs shoes: Kenneth Cole watch: unknown

As you get to know me, you'll begin to see a theme in my wardrobe. One item I simply cannot turn down is a cute romper (also known as a jumper, playsuit, onesie, etc). This is something Mo would call a "dollie" outfit. I wore this silky romper on our last night in Mexico while on vacation. As much as I love them, I prefer to wear them for a limited amount of time since they make trips to the ladies room a bit unmanageable.

Allow Us To Introduce Ourselves

Let's back up a bit, shall we? We're Laura (at left) and Monique (at right). We've been best pals since we met as college tour guides. You can also call us by our nicknames: Dollie and Mo.

Laura is a writer who lives in Maine. Most of the clothes in her closet are vintage and thrifted. Monique is a therapist that lives in Manhattan. Most of her clothes are designer and from boutiques.

We're constantly inspiring each other with what we wear. Though our styles are different, what we love is often the same. We've started this blog to share with each other what we wear on a daily basis - and to share it with all of you. We hope you enjoy it!

The Highline

dress: diane von furstenberg shirt: h&m bag: diane von furstenberg  necklace: jewelmint watch: family heirloom

After a few days of 90 degrees plus in NYC, it was nice to have a weekend of not so hot weather. What a better place to spend it than with a friend at "The Highline." I have decided that maxi dresses are my go-to item for the summer. They're a great way to stay cool and chic! VoilĂ !

Mexican Mama

Hat: Target Blouse: Vintage Shorts: Levi's Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Just back from vacation and cursing myself for living in Maine. Why don't I live in a tropical oasis in Mexico permanently? Alas, it was a good way for me to break in my oversized polka dot blouse that I scooped up at a recent Goodwill trip.
